Hi, I’m Marisa!

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, surrounded by the hardworking, grounded spirit of the Midwest; a sense of resilience and community that continues to shape who I am and how I live. In 2011, I moved to Fort Collins to study psychology and biology at Colorado State University. During my time there, I completed my first yoga teacher training and was instantly humbled and hooked. Almost 15 years later, I remain deeply dedicated to practicing and teaching in Denver, CO. Beyond its physical benefits, I believe that these ancient tools can help us navigate the inherent messiness of being a human. I am indebted to my teachers for introducing me to the path of yoga, evermore humbled by the opportunity to share it with others. Off of my mat, you can find me skiing, freediving, & training jiu-jitsu!

Yoga, as a way of life and a philosophy, can be practiced by anyone with inclination to undertake it, for yoga belongs to humanity as a whole. It is not the property of any one group or any one individual, but can be followed by any and all, in any corner of the globe, regardless of class, creed or religion.
